New Recorder/Mixer

This stand and wire shelves arrangement really cleaned things up. The Tascam Model 24 is being underused here. There’s only four stereo pairs coming from the Virus and Sample, and there’s sixteen mono and five stereo channels on the Tascm. I’ll be putting the rest of the tracks to use later. Second Virus (6 – 3 stereo), Casio PX5s (2 – 1 stereo, Three Meeblips (3 mono), WaveDrum (2 – 1 stereo), Deluge (2 – 1 stereo), VG99 (2 – 1 stereo), VB99 (2 – 1 stereo), GP-10 (3 – 1 stereo, 1 mono), and VoiceLive 3X (5 – 2 … Continue reading New Recorder/Mixer

Living Room Jams

Getting the stripped down setup going again. Still a few changes in the queue for it. Looking forward to swapping out the AdrenaLinn III I’ve been using as a second drum source for a Synthstrom Audio Deluge, plus adding a 2nd KP3+ and a Behringer DJ mixer. Adding the DJ mixer will make it possible to create and modify in the background, and once I get that down, I will probably add in vocals, and guitar looping. With the ability to record in backing loops while something else is playing should make live looping of the type I’ve done in … Continue reading Living Room Jams

It’s Deja Vu All Over Again

I used to have a theme every 3 months when I was looping 2010-2012. I don’t know if the tracks in this playlist were from this theme, but here they are. I found them while copying about 4 terabytes of audio from one backup drive to another. Because you can never have too many backups. some of the files have glitches from a previous computer that developed a USB issue that wasn’t obvious right away. I had a great time when I was looping. Update 2019-11-02Added a couple of tracks from even farther back to the playlist. One from 2008, … Continue reading It’s Deja Vu All Over Again

Live Looping

I was posting some links off SoundCloud to Twitter and paused to listen to the last live looping gig I had back in 2017 before my life evaporated. It was with a couple of other loopy types, both who were more synth oriented, and more experimental, where I’m more post-rock. Or so I’m told. I sometimes miss doing the live looping thing. From late 2009 until early 2013 I played about 3 gigs a week, for tips (not many), a couple of drinks and at a couple of places, dinner. I recorded nearly all of it. I’m not sure that … Continue reading Live Looping

Side Projects

Being creative is a gift and a curse. I see others on social media – okay, I’m really just on Twitter and Instagram – but I see others with similar speed bumps. Too many ideas, not enough time. Or enough time and not enough resources. I would like to hear my music used in film/video/etc. but it is a flooded market out there. I don’t just make music. I paint, cook, take photos, and ramble incoherently, among other talents. Not incoherently enough to be the head of a corporation or run for public office, but I digress. I … Continue reading Side Projects
